My First Country Song
I had this idea for a country song a few weeks ago. Now, bear in mind, I can’t sing. I can’t play guitar. Heck, I don’t even have a twang, so the idea of me coming up with a country song doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.

Listening Eyes
He stared past my eyes, right through me. I answered his simple question, glancing this way and that. Making little wisecracks. Making little talk. Feeling the weight of his eyes, I turned back.
No expression on his sun-weathered face, just two deeply listening eyes. As I spoke, he clung onto each word. Felt their texture. Toiled [...]

I’m leaving and never coming back.
A few years to live
And even more to die,
So I’m leaving my rucksack
